Death penalty: Why i think it is wrong

Everyone thinks human life is precious. People against capital punishment believe that human life is so valuable that even the worst murderers should not be deprived their right to live. They believe that the value of the offender’s life cannot be taken by the offender’s bad decisions – even if they have killed someone. There’s also an argument to be made that death is too good for the worst criminals. Let them wake up and go to bed every day of their lives in a prison cell, and think about the freedom they don’t have, until they rot of old age.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The worst case scenario could be that an innocent person could be wrongly convicted for a crime he/she did not do. In the last 35 years in the U.S.130 people have been released from death row because there was a failure in the DNA testings. A staggering figure of 8,000 people have been wrongly convicted and put on death row.

To conclude my speech on the capital punishment i’d just like to clearly state that the saying “an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth” is not the way to go in life. Everyone has a right to life and i believe no-one should be deprived of that right.

Macbeth scene summary : act 2 scene 4

Setting: Somewhere in Scotland.

Characters: Old man,Ross,Macduff.

The two men at the start of the scene, Old man and Ross, are discussing how disorientated the night was. In the text it says “by the clock tis day and night strangles the traveling lamp”. This quote infers that something has caused mother nature to be violent on the earth, that means refusing to make the sun rise.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Later in the scene Macduff and Ross find out that Malcolm and Donaldbain (Duncan’s sons) are no-where to be seen. They are discussing who could be behind this terrible act of murder, due to the absence of Doaldbain and Malcom they are seen as the prime suspects.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      As the scene draws to a close Macbeth has gone to be crowned king, but neither Ross or Macduff want to attend the ceremony. They want to carry on looking for clues.
